Embassy Suites' Brew Hound Restaurant and Bar, at 2815 Akers Mill Road in the Cumberland-Galleria area, scored a 75 on Friday, July 24. That's a "C" grade under Georgia's system, meaning marginal compliance. Facilities scoring below 80 face a re-inspection within 10 working days.
Two other Cumberland-area restaurants also scored in the low 80s: Punch Bowl Social at the Battery (83, inspected Friday, July 24) and Buffalo Wild Wings #650 at Cumberland Mall (83, inspected Friday, July 17). Outside that corridor, Mexico Lindo Restaurant #1 on South Cobb Drive in Smyrna scored 84 on Friday, July 17, and Marco's Pizza in Mableton scored 84 on Thursday, July 23.
East Cobb results
The news was better along East Cobb's commercial corridors. Bad Daddy's Burger Bar on Sandy Plains Road earned a 99 on Friday, July 17. Ted's Montana Grill #42 at 640 Johnson Ferry Road scored 91 on Tuesday, July 21. Dogwood Catering of Marietta and its two Smoking Spoonful operations, all at 4961 Lower Roswell Road, each scored 96 on Friday, July 17.
Thai Taste on Canton Road, the East Cobb restaurant that drew attention after scoring a failing 42 on Tuesday, July 14, held steady at 88 in its Tuesday, July 21 re-inspection. That "B" grade confirms the 46-point rebound the Beacon previously reported.
Grading scale
Georgia's Department of Public Health grades food-service facilities on a 100-point scale. A score of 90–100 earns an "A" for excellent compliance. Scores of 80–89 earn a "B" (satisfactory), 70–79 a "C" (marginal), and anything below 70 is a "U" for unsatisfactory, requiring immediate corrective action.

The week's batch covered 56 Cobb County facilities inspected between Friday, July 17 and Friday, July 24, according to data compiled by the Cobb County Courier from Georgia DPH records. Among the perfect scores were Roam in Atlanta, Duck Donuts in Acworth, and Subway #33436 in Acworth.
