New 'I Voted' sticker unveiled

The Georgia Secretary of State's office on Tuesday, Sept. 29, unveiled a new "I Voted" sticker designed by Atlanta-based artist Steve Penley, owner of Penley Art Co. The design replaces the previous peach-themed sticker. Five million copies will be distributed at polling places statewide, East Cobb News reported.

"I'm honored to create a design that Georgians can take home with them from polls," Penley said in a statement released by the Secretary of State's office.

SPLOST referendum also on the ballot

A referendum to extend the county's Special-Purpose Local-Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) will appear on the Nov. 3 ballot. The Cobb County Board of Elections and Registration voted to call the special election at its Aug. 10 meeting.

Voters can check their registration, find their precinct and view a sample ballot at the Georgia Secretary of State's My Voter Page at mvp.sos.ga.gov.
