A motorcycle operator was hospitalized with serious injuries after a crash on Barrett Parkway near Anderson Estates Court on Saturday afternoon, July 26, the Marietta Daily Journal reported.
The crash occurred along one of East Cobb's busiest commercial corridors. No details about the cause of the crash, the number of vehicles involved, or the identity of the rider have been released.
As of Tuesday, July 28, the Cobb County Police Department had not issued a press release or public statement with additional information. The department's STEP Unit, which investigates serious traffic crashes in the county, has not confirmed its involvement in this case.
Recent motorcycle crashes in Cobb County
The Saturday crash is the third serious motorcycle incident in Cobb County in less than a month.
On Saturday, July 4, a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on Church Road near Saddlebrook Creek Drive in Kennesaw killed Adrian Villalobos, 23. On Tuesday, July 7, police charged Antavious Waller with homicide by vehicle after investigators said he and another rider were traveling approximately 87 mph on Macland Road when the other motorcyclist died in a collision with an SUV.
In connection with the Macland Road case, Sgt. Eric Smith of the Cobb County Police Department said on July 7: "Do not treat the roadway as a racetrack or a speedway. We have posted speed limits for a reason. Other motorists don't have the opportunity to properly react."
No cause has been determined in the Barrett Parkway crash, and police have not indicated speed was a factor.
Barrett Parkway crash history
Barrett Parkway, officially named Ernest W. Barrett Parkway, has seen repeated traffic incidents in 2026. The Cobb County Department of Transportation issued traffic alerts for crashes on the corridor on at least four separate occasions between May and July.
The stretch near Anderson Estates Court sits in a heavily trafficked section of the road lined with shopping centers and residential subdivisions.
