Lynn Müster spent four years taking watercolor classes at the Sewell Mill Library and Cultural Center. Her painting "Summer in Georgia" will now be sold on merchandise across Cobb County as part of the library system's retail shop.

Müster is one of three artists whose work was selected by community vote for the Cobb Library Shop's Summer '26 People's Collection, the shop's ninth product line since it launched in December 2025. The 18-product collection features custom footwear, apparel and lifestyle accessories, with proceeds funding the Cobb County Public Library System.

The collection grew out of the library's "Design the Season" contest, which ran throughout May 2026. Ten local artists submitted work, and 233 community members cast votes, according to a Cobb County government announcement published June 30. The result was a three-way tie among Müster, Leilanix Ruiz and Slade Smith. Rather than force a tiebreaker, the library crowned all three winners and merged their artwork into one collection.

Smith's design became the collection's official summer logo. Müster's and Ruiz's artwork was integrated across the product line. The library described Müster's style as inspired by Southern botanicals and organic elements, blending soft watercolor techniques with modern composition.

Slone Williams, e-commerce operations and brand manager for the Cobb Library Shop, said the team collaborated closely with all three artists on product selection. "We worked hand-in-hand with Slade, Lynn, and Leilanix to carefully select the exact physical items that would bring their specific mediums to life," Williams said in the June 30 announcement.

The library plans to host a celebratory reception bringing the three artists together with the Community and User Engagement Team and members of the Cobb Library Foundation. Each artist will also receive a prize package including one item of their choice from the collection and a library swag bag. A date and location for the reception have not been announced.

The Sewell Mill Library and Cultural Center, located in East Cobb, offers watercolor, pottery, painting and drawing classes to the public. Its Creative Studios provide free multimedia production space to anyone with a Cobb County Public Library card.
