Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams will open its third Cobb County shop at Avenue East Cobb later in 2026, filling a storefront that has sat empty since February.

The Columbus, Ohio-based chain announced Tuesday, Sept. 22, that it will move into the former Press Waffle Co. space at 4475 Roswell Road, Suite 1810, East Cobb News reported. The 1,175-square-foot unit is one of two "jewel box" retail spaces built during the shopping center's recent overhaul.

Regis Duffy, vice president of shops at Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, said in a company release that the brand is looking to grow its Atlanta-area footprint. Adam Schwegman, head of retail leasing at Jamestown, the Avenue East Cobb's property manager, said the ice cream shop gives the East Cobb community "a location in their own backyard."

The Avenue location will be the brand's 11th in metro Atlanta. Jeni's already operates shops at The Battery Atlanta and on Church Street near the Marietta Square. Other metro locations include Ashford Lane, Westside Provisions, Krog Street, Buckhead, Glenwood Park, Plaza on Ponce, Avalon and Decatur. Founded in 2002, the chain runs more than 80 stores across 14 states.

Jeni's shops carry more than 20 rotating scratch-made flavors at any given time, including Brambleberry Crisp, Gooey Butter Cake and Savannah Buttermint. Dairy-free and gluten-free options are also on the menu.

Press Waffle Co. closed the suite in February after a little more than two years in business. Owners Keith and Niki Ginel announced the closure on the restaurant's Instagram page but gave no reason. The Belgian-style waffle concept started as a food truck in St. Louis in 2016 and gained national attention on the television show "Shark Tank."

The second jewel box space at the Avenue was slated for Tenku Sushi Elevation, a Japanese restaurant, as of earlier in 2026. That restaurant's current status could not be confirmed.

A specific opening date for the Jeni's shop has not been announced. The company said only that it will open later in 2026.
