East Cobb residents can drop off old electronics, worn-out sneakers, and stacks of paper for free recycling and shredding on Saturday, November 14, when Keep Cobb Beautiful hosts its Fall 2026 Community Recycling Event at Jim R. Miller Park in Marietta.
The drive-through event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the park, located at 2245 Callaway Road. Volunteers and staff will direct cars through the parking lot and help unload items, according to the Cobb County Government announcement posted July 20.
What's accepted
The event takes electronics, metals, textiles, books, sneakers, and documents for secure shredding. Hard-to-recycle plastics are also accepted but must be brought in orange Hefty ReNew bags, which are available at local Walmart, Target, Kroger, and Publix stores.
Some items, such as televisions, may require a vendor-determined fee, according to Cobb County's recycling event FAQ page.
Past event turnout
Keep Cobb Beautiful holds the recycling event twice a year, in spring and fall. The Spring 2025 event drew more than 1,000 cars and collected about 15 tons of electronics, 13.3 tons of metals, 16 tons of paper, and about 1.2 tons of textiles, according to the county's Earth Month 2025 recap.
The Spring 2026 event took place April 11, in the same format.
Registration
Registration for the November 14 event will open in early October, Keep Cobb Beautiful said. Registration guarantees a spot to drop off materials, according to the county FAQ.
