The Sandy Plains Road art studio that opened its doors a year ago is throwing a free celebration, and the whole neighborhood is invited.
Peachtree Art Center will mark its first anniversary with an open house on Sunday, Aug. 23, from noon to 5 p.m. at 2601 Sandy Plains Road, near the intersection with East Piedmont Road. The event features original artwork for sale from local artists, free mini-classes, food, and prizes.
Admission is free.
Owner Angela Sigari, a Certified Bob Ross Instructor who has lived in East Cobb for nearly 40 years, posted the invitation on East Cobb Patch on Sunday, Aug. 2.
"If you've driven by, saw us on social media, or heard about the center and wondered what we offer, now's your chance to check it out," Sigari wrote.
The celebration doubles as a showcase for the center's programming. Visitors can tour the space, meet instructors and exhibitors, and learn about classes in painting, pottery, glass etching, wood-burning, crochet, jewelry-making, and soap-making, among other offerings. The center also hosts birthday parties, corporate events, and a gallery space.
Sigari, a former homeschool mom, opened the center in August 2025, according to the Cobb Chamber of Commerce. Her goal: spotlight local talent and give the community hands-on creative experiences. In the year since, the studio has added dedicated Homeschool Days at least once a month, Senior Days on the first and third Mondays, kids' art camps, and after-school programs.
