Thai Taste on Canton Road jumped from a failing 42 to an 88 on its Tuesday, July 21 re-inspection, pulling the restaurant out of "unsatisfactory" territory and back to a B grade, according to Georgia Department of Public Health records.
The Canton Road restaurant near Jamerson Road had drawn one of East Cobb's lowest health scores when inspector Elena Petra of Cobb and Douglas Public Health conducted a routine visit on Monday, July 13. That three-hour inspection uncovered a litany of violations: no person-in-charge on the premises, improper food separation, an employee re-entering the kitchen with soiled gloves from cutting chicken, and raw bean sprouts stored directly on top of raw eggs in the walk-in cooler.
In the inspector's words from the July 13 report: "The only one employee was not aware of when food was cooked on what day or what time of the day, when employee shall wash his hands and could not answer any of EHS questions."
Under Georgia rules, any restaurant scoring 69 or below must be re-inspected within 10 working days. Thai Taste's follow-up took place Tuesday, July 21, from 10:15 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. The certified food safety manager listed on both inspections is Samroeng Ngianwan.
The 88 earns a B grade (80–89 on Georgia's scale). It does not trigger another mandatory re-inspection, though the score remains below the A threshold of 90. Thai Taste previously held a 91/A in August 2024 and an 80/B in November 2025.
