An East Cobb man faces two felony charges after allegedly threatening a police officer while being treated at WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, according to an arrest warrant cited in an East Cobb News crime blotter report published Monday, Aug. 24.

John Edward Sneed, 55, of Robinson Road, has been charged with felony counts of making terroristic threats and obstruction of a law enforcement officer, along with a misdemeanor count of simple assault, Cobb County Police said.

The arrest warrant states Sneed made the threat while an officer was attempting to move him on a hospital bed. The specific language of the alleged threat has not been made public in available records.

Sneed is in custody.

Making terroristic threats and felony obstruction each carry one to five years in prison under Georgia law. Simple assault is punishable by up to 12 months in jail.

No court date for Sneed's case has been announced. Cobb County Police have not released additional details about the circumstances that brought Sneed to the hospital or the officer's involvement.

WellStar Kennestone, located at 677 Church St. NE, is the primary emergency facility serving East Cobb residents and sees more than 147,000 emergency patients annually.
