Lassiter High School's homecoming parade takes over Shallowford Road on Tuesday, Oct. 20, starting at 5:30 p.m.
The annual parade is free and open to the public. This year's theme is "Haunted Hoco," and the EastCobb.com event listing describes the vibe as "dance like nobody's grading you" energy.
Route and viewing
Parade floats and entries will stage in the Home Depot parking lot, in the area between Wendy's and BP. The route heads down Shallowford Road toward Lassiter High School at 2601 Shallowford Road.
The best viewing stretches along Shallowford from Gordy Parkway to the school. Organizers ask spectators to stay on the sidewalk closest to Harrison Park for a clear sightline as entries pass.
Arrival and parking
Setup begins at 4 p.m. Spectators should plan to arrive by about 5 p.m. to find parking and claim a sidewalk spot before the 5:30 p.m. step-off.
Parade participants throw candy along the route. Families may want to bring a small grocery bag so kids can collect the haul.
No road-closure details for Shallowford Road have been announced. Drivers using the corridor that evening may want to check with Cobb County or the school for traffic updates closer to the date.
Homecoming game
The parade opens homecoming week at Lassiter. The Trojans host Sequoyah for the homecoming football game on Friday, Oct. 23, at 7:30 p.m. at the school's stadium, according to the Trojans' football schedule.
