East Cobb's long-running parade and festival is coming back this fall, with the 28th Annual East Cobber Parade & Festival set for Saturday, Oct. 3 along Johnson Ferry Road.
Tiffanie Abernethy, writing for EAST COBBER magazine, announced the event Aug. 13. The magazine produces the annual gathering.
The parade steps off at 10 a.m. and travels one mile south on Johnson Ferry Road, ending at Olde Towne Parkway, according to event listings. The festival follows from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, 955 Johnson Ferry Road.
Admission is free.
In past years, the parade has drawn more than 2,000 participants and more than 80 groups, including families, schools, businesses, civic organizations and local leaders. Festival activities include inflatables and carnival games for kids.
EAST COBBER magazine, founded in 1993 by publisher Cynthia Rozzo, produces the event as part of its mission of "building a sense of community." The parade's exact founding year varies across the magazine's own materials, but last year's edition was billed as the 27th annual, held Sept. 13, 2025. This year's shift to October marks a change from the event's traditional September date.
