A new Southern soul food restaurant has opened its doors at 16 Atlanta St. on Marietta Square, giving East Cobb diners another reason to head down the Roswell Road corridor.

Fin and Feathers held a soft opening Thursday, Aug. 6, at 5 p.m., according to the Marietta Daily Journal. A grand opening date has not been announced.

Business license paperwork filed with the city lists Marietta Soul Inc. as the owner entity, according to Marietta.com. The restaurant sits directly across Atlanta Street from Johnnie MacCracken's Celtic Firehouse Pub, which has anchored that block since 2004. MacCracken's occupies a building that originally opened in late 1885 as Marietta Fire Station No. 1, making the stretch one of the Square's most recognizable corners.

The space at 16 Atlanta St. has seen heavy turnover. Carmen's Kitchen & Cocktails held its grand opening there in September 2024. Before that, the address housed BlaqHaus ATL, Blue Mist Cafe & Lounge, Hidden Treasures and Marietta Cigar Company.

Whether Fin and Feathers can break the cycle remains to be seen.

The restaurant joins a wave of new dining spots landing on or near Marietta Square in 2026, including Glover Park Kitchen at 72 Atlanta St., West Park Sports Club at 29 West Park Square and Pisano's Pizzeria & Italian Kitchen. No specific menu details have been released beyond the "Southern soul" description, and hours have not been posted publicly.

Residents looking to try Fin and Feathers can find it at 16 Atlanta St. SE, Marietta, GA 30060. The grand opening date is pending.
