Three current Kennesaw State student-athletes and two former Owls are competing at the 2026 USATF Outdoor Championships, which opened Thursday, July 23, at Icahn Stadium in New York. The meet runs through Sunday, July 26.

Hammer thrower Kali Terza and 800-meter runner Emma Sullivan will wear the KSU jersey for the final time at the championships, according to Kennesaw State Athletics. Both finished their collegiate careers at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in June.

Terza enters her first USATF Championships after a breakout spring. She threw a personal-best 69.12 meters (226-9) to win gold at the Conference USA Outdoor Championships in May, then placed seventh at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon, earning first-team All-America honors. CBS News Atlanta has profiled Terza, noting her NIL deal and aspirations for the 2028 Olympic Games. Her women's hammer throw final is scheduled for Friday, July 24, at 8:10 p.m. ET.

Sullivan won the Edmonton Athletics Invitational on July 12, clocking 2:00.09 in the 800 meters. She ran a personal-best 2:00.37 in the preliminary round at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, finishing 12th and earning second-team All-America honors. Sullivan's first round is Friday, July 24, at 7:23 p.m. ET, with the final set for Sunday, July 26, at 4:25 p.m. ET.

Madison Seiler is also making her USATF debut. She qualified for the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a 9:56.87 at the Penn Relays in April and took bronze at the Conference USA Championships in May. Seiler's first round was Thursday, July 23, at 7:43 p.m. ET.

Daniel Haugh is making his eighth USATF Outdoor Championships appearance in the men's hammer throw. The 2019 NCAA champion won U.S. titles in 2022 and 2024 and competed at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. Isaiah Rogers is making his fourth consecutive appearance; he placed 12th in 2024. Both competed in the men's hammer throw final Thursday, July 23, at 8:05 p.m. ET.

The championships air on NBC and NBCSN, with streaming available on Peacock, USATF.tv, and the NBC Sports app. The KSU contingent's schedule closes Sunday, July 26, with Sullivan's 800-meter final at 4:25 p.m. ET, should she advance from Friday's first round.
