Cobb County police arrested a New York police department employee on two felony child molestation charges at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Atlanta Northwest on Interstate North Parkway, five days after he allegedly molested a girl under 16 at the hotel pool.
Blaize Garry Gallimore, 26, a telecommunications specialist with the Albany Police Department in Albany, New York, was taken into custody at approximately 2:40 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 10, at 230 Interstate North Parkway, according to Cobb County Sheriff's Office booking records confirmed by the Cobb County Police Department to NEWS10.
According to an arrest warrant cited by the Marietta Daily Journal via Daily Voice, Gallimore allegedly molested the girl inside the hotel pool around noon on Aug. 5.
Four days later, on Aug. 9, Cobb County police officers in a marked patrol car attempted to stop Gallimore while he was driving a blue 2025 Nissan Rogue at the hotel around 5:30 p.m. The arrest warrant states he refused to pull over and "continued to disobey officers lawful commands by telling them no he would not comply."
He was taken into custody early the following morning.
Gallimore faces two felony counts of child molestation and one misdemeanor count of willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer. He is being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
Albany PD responds
The Albany Police Department issued a statement Sunday, Aug. 16, confirming it had been notified of the charges by the Cobb County Police Department. The department said the charges are unrelated to Gallimore's duties as a telecommunications specialist or any matter involving the Albany Police Department.
Gallimore has worked for the Albany Police Department since June 2023. He has been suspended without pay, and administrative actions against him remain pending, the department said.
Albany police referred all questions about the criminal investigation to the Cobb County Police Department. The case remains under investigation, and no court date has been publicly scheduled.
