Cobb County police arrested two Truist Park parking attendants for allegedly pocketing payments from drivers during the Atlanta Braves' playoff win on Thursday, Oct. 1.

Ayianna Brodeur and Kenneth Cainion, both employees of LAZ Parking, were working at the stadium's Lot 9 that night, according to warrants first reported by WSB-TV's Cobb County Bureau Chief Michele Newell. The warrants say Lot 9 is a pre-paid lot, meaning no transactions should take place at the gate.

Drivers are expected to purchase parking in advance. But Brodeur and Cainion allegedly collected cash and electronic payments from those who arrived without pre-paid tickets and kept the money, the warrants state. The total was less than $1,500.

Each faces a misdemeanor charge of theft by taking. Both were arrested that night and released on a $1,000 bond.

The alleged scheme played out as a sellout crowd of 41,731 packed Truist Park to watch the Braves beat the Philadelphia Phillies 6-2 in the decisive Game 3 of the National League Wild Card Series, according to ESPN. The win sent the Braves to the National League Division Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Truist Park, located in unincorporated Cobb County off Interstate 285, is the county's highest-profile venue and draws tens of thousands of visitors for every home game. Playoff crowds bring even heavier traffic to surrounding lots.

LAZ Parking, the company that employs Brodeur and Cainion, said in a statement to WSB-TV that it is cooperating with authorities. The company declined further comment, citing the ongoing investigation.

No court date has been announced for either defendant. The Cobb County Police Department has not released an independent statement on the arrests.
