A Thai restaurant on Canton Road scored a 42 out of 100 on its health inspection the week of July 10–16, the lowest mark among all Cobb County establishments inspected that week, while several East Cobb favorites along Sandy Plains and Lower Roswell roads earned near-perfect grades.

Thai Taste, at 4796 Canton Road, Suite 600-700, received its failing score on Monday, July 13, according to Georgia Department of Public Health records compiled by the Cobb County Courier. Canton Road sits on the western edge of the East Cobb area. Under the state's grading system, any score below 70 is rated "U" for unsatisfactory and requires immediate corrective action.

The Marietta Daily Journal reported that the inspection cited raw chicken handling and food storage violations.

Establishments that fail are given up to 10 days to correct critical violations before facing possible suspension or closure, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health. No follow-up inspection result for Thai Taste was available as of Tuesday, July 22. Results will be posted on the state's online portal at ga.healthinspections.us.

On the other end of the scale, several East Cobb-area restaurants posted strong marks:

  • Arby's #1218, 2626 Sandy Plains Road — 91 (Wednesday, July 15)

Two East Cobb spots landed in the "B" range, meaning satisfactory but not excellent compliance:

  • Chipotle Mexican Grill – Sandy Plains 2, 3606 Sandy Plains Road — 86 (Thursday, July 16)
  • The Indian Verandah, 3101 Roswell Road, Suite 100 — 82 (Friday, July 10)

Georgia's grading scale runs from A (90–100, excellent compliance) through B (80–89, satisfactory) and C (70–79, marginal) down to U (69 or below, unsatisfactory), according to the state Department of Public Health's inspection portal. Inspectors visit most food service establishments roughly twice a year.
