Tandoor Tavern on Gordy Parkway earned a 77 and a C grade during a routine health inspection Monday, July 27, making it the lowest-scoring East Cobb restaurant in the latest batch of scores from Cobb and Douglas Public Health.
The score marks a decline for the Indian restaurant at 3045 Gordy Parkway, Suite 108. Tandoor Tavern had earned 80/B grades on its two previous inspections, in December 2025 and October 2024, according to the state inspection report.
Inspectors cited seven violations, resulting in a score of 77 out of 100. The costliest: multiple foods in the prep-top unit, walk-in cooler, and on a countertop were holding above 41°F, a nine-point deduction. Most of the affected food was discarded. Inspectors also found numerous live flies throughout the kitchen and around the three-compartment sink, a three-point violation.
Other citations included a handwashing sink blocked by a rolling cart, dishes stored as clean with visible food residue, an employee washing dishes without a rinse or sanitizing step, paneer cheese, dal, cooked spinach, and bean dal stored uncovered, and plates stored upright without protection from overhead contamination. The uncovered-food item was flagged as a repeat violation from a prior inspection.
Several issues were corrected on-site during the visit, including covering the uncovered food, rewashing dirty dishes, and clearing the handwashing sinks.
In Georgia's food inspection system, a C grade (70–79) sits one step above a failing/unsatisfactory mark. Restaurants scoring 69 or below receive a U grade.
On the other end of the scale, Derek's Cafe at 1779 Canton Road posted a perfect 100/A on Tuesday, July 28.
