Walton High School posted the highest average SAT score in Cobb County for the Class of 2026, leading the district at 1255 out of a possible 1600.
Lassiter followed at 1204 and Wheeler at 1193, according to state data the district released Wednesday, Sept. 30, as first reported by the Marietta Daily Journal. Pope, another East Cobb school, scored 1181. All four East Cobb high schools cleared the 1100 mark.
The Cobb County School District averaged 1116 overall, unchanged from 2025. That score still topped the Georgia public-school average by 85 points and the national average by 105 points. Cobb students averaged 569 in evidence-based reading and writing and 547 in math, with each section scored out of 800.
Board of Education Chair Randy Scamihorn said in a district press release that the scores reflect students who are ready for college, scholarships and the futures they are building.
Eight Cobb high schools exceeded 1100. Beyond the East Cobb schools, Kennesaw Mountain (1132), Harrison (1130), Campbell (1102) and Hillgrove (1102) also cleared that threshold.
Not every school gained ground. Seven schools saw their averages drop. Kell had the steepest decline, falling from 1089 in 2025 to 1065. Pebblebrook posted the biggest gain, jumping 25
